Jessie is approached by a young girl who wants her to prove that her father, a known wife beater and councilman, was murdered and not killed in self defense by his current girlfriend. Jessie tries to explain things to Carrie, the daughter, and things just don't sit right with Jessie. I loved this book. Like the rest of the Jessie Black legal thrillers, it starts off at a run and doesn’t stop until the conclusion. Interesting characters, good plots and lots of action! Don’t miss this one!
I have now read 4 books in this series. Love it. Great characters and story lines. End up reading way to late, but worth every moment. Give the series a try and I would recommend reading in order. Hope there are many more to come.
Love this book. It may have taken awhile but it is so worth the wait for this new Jessie Black Legal Thriller. She is back in full force! There are so many twist and turns. Mr. Winters weaves quite the tail that makes us fall in love with Jess a all over again. If you haven't done so, go get the first three and gave a great time
I have been on a binge of reading Jessie Black thrillers. This one was just as good as the others. Filled with intrigue, suspense, courtroom drama, police investigation and great characters. Can't wait for the next Jessica Black book.
This is my favorite book of the series, and I can't wait for the next one! I recently found this series, and I really enjoyed it. There's great characters and just the right amount of action, courtroom drama, and personal development. I recommend this book. Like many series, however, I recommend they be read in order.
A prosecutor prosecutes and an ex-detective still detects. Put them together and you get an awesome team, even if they aren’t aware that they are working together. FYI Just because your cohorts call you “Full-of-shit Fulco” doesn’t mean you have to act that way. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.
I read Mr. Winters first three books in the Jessie Black series and enjoyed them thoroughly so my expectations for this one were quite high. I am happy to report that my expectations were more than satisfied. In this book, the main character Jessie Black left her normal role as a prosecuting attorney and was initially quite uncomfortable with this and was loathe to take it on. The book is full of twists and turns and kept me wondering until the end. My definition of a great book is that it kept me up past my bed time and this one did two nights in a row. Larry Winters is a talented writer and I fully intend to follow Jessie in any future stories.
