My Book Club read this book, and we had a great discussion by choosing random Workbook questions out of a teacup. Now we are eager to pass the book on to our daughters. Meagan Frank makes you laugh and cry throughout her book and uses outstanding analogies to explain her points. I have printed Meagan's "10 Marriage Commandments" to re-read often. I highly recommend this insightful and helpful book to women of all ages.
I appreciated the author's honesty about her journey in her marriage. It's so important for couples to know that marriage has it's ups and downs and there are certain stages of life that marriage might be harder than others. I read the book over a year ago and I still think of it often as I'm growing through marriage myself. Well done!
In reading this book, it is very evident that the expressivities of self-disclosure and feedback from various women groups is essential to their their discovery of simlarity and connectiveness, essential for human growth.
34 years of marriage and still learning to grow! This book is both authentic and informative, loaded with wonderful analogies and heart-warming stories. A must read for anyone considering marriage, married, or struggling in a relationship. Meagan Frank explores relationships so comfortably that you feel you are sitting down having tea with her, rather than reading a book. Her advice on honest communication is invaluable, while her writing style is both keen and poignant.
I just finished reading this new author's book on how to grow in your marriage. The book is a very "easy" read. It kept me interested and gave me so many good ideas on how to improve my marriage. I feel that my marriage is in a positive place right now, but the book was still beneficial for me. The author talks about how in the lowest points of her marriage, she set out to find the answers that would make her happy in her marriage as well as make it last. She did a lot of research and also hosted tea parties where she would talk to all types of women on marital issues. She shares how she used her findings and the insight she gained from these tea parties to greatly improve her own marriage. This book is not a typical how-to book. For me, the book reminded me of why I got married in the first place and why it's worth it to make it last. I plan to put many of her ideas into practice with my own marriage.
A well written, well researched easy read. An optimist's look at growing through adversity and self introspection. Meagan has shared the unvarnished truth about how to make a marriage work even though it isn't always easy. Should be required for everyone who is married or planning to marry. The information is relevant whether they expect the 'happily ever after' scenario, or plan to change everyone else to make the marriage work. It's great a great insight on how to overcome the inevitable bumps along the way.
Meagan did a great job revealing the inner workings of her marriage with encouragement for any others who face the challenges and rewards of an intimate relationship. Her book is a quick and enjoyable read.
